The Components of Sustainability

Environmental limits are posed by the exhaustion of natural resources and exceeding natural carrying capacities. The limits are mediated to the policy testing process via target values of the indicators.
Social sustainability includes the analysis of the distribution of the impacts of policies, the justice of those distributions as well as of the state of the community with regard safety and opportunities people have.
Economic efficiency of the use of resources examines, whether the most benefits are achieved with the least use of resources.
